1. Personal Information
The only time I ask for personal information is through a contact form, surveys, or questionnaires. IF you are asked to submit your name and/or email address, I will use it to:
That's all. I will not sell, share, or divulge your information to anyone. If another authorized person is entrusted with the handling this website, only that person and I will have access to your information.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
2. Security Management
I employ commercially reasonable methods to ensure the security of the information you provide to me. This includes using standard security protocols and working only with reputable third-party vendors.
I will take necessary and appropriate security measure to prevent illicit access to or leakage of personal information. Names and email addresses will be kept on a secure, password protected drive and on Google in the case of surveys.
3. Provision to Third Parties
Email is not recognized as a secure medium of communication. For this reason, I request that you do not send private information to me by email. However, doing so is allowed, but at your own risk.
This site has links to social media platforms such as Substack, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube as well as payment systems such as Paypal. By using those sites, you are consenting to abide by their rules, so play nicely.
I will share use of the personal information in the manner described below:
I may disclose information when legally compelled to do so, in other words, when I, in good faith, believe that the law requires it or for the protection of my legal rights or when compelled by a court or other governmental entity to do so.
Otherwise.... never.
4. Cookie Policy
I think cookies (especially oatmeal raisin) should be eaten hot out of the oven, preferably with a cold glass of milk. Otherwise, they aren't necessary.
louisehaynes.com does not contain ads (except for links to important sites that I think may be useful to people who use this site), and so there are no ad trackers.
louisehaynes.com does not collect or use “cookies”.
Google, ISPs or others may monitor web browsers and thus collect aggregated information about number of visitors, etc. but this is not done by louisehaynes.com, and I do not routinely check Google Analytics or other website reports like that.
The Rapidweaver software I have used to create this website includes Rapidweaver code and third-party add-on software “stacks” and other code. To the best of my knowledge, neither Rapidweaver nor the third-party software uses tracking methods, cookies, etc. However, if you find any indication of information misuse by the website code or add-ons, contact me using the contact form on this site. Thanks!
